NEW DELHI, INDIA: Samsung India Electronics Ltd announced the opening of its first Samsung IT Brandshop at Arihant Arcade, Ameerpet in Hyderabad.
The Samsung Brandshop was inaugurated by JungSoo Shin, President and CEO, Samsung South West Asia and Ranjit Yadav, Director IT, Samsung India Electronics in the presence of other Samsung representatives, dealers and customers.
Speaking at the inauguration of the first Samsung IT Brand shop in India, Shin stated, "Retail is a big thrust area for us as we looking at enhancing our consumer interface this year. The IT Brandshop will represent a one stop shop for all Samsung IT products, ranging from notebooks to printers. In the coming months, we plan to set up IT Brandshops in the other metros as well." The Samsung IT Brandshop showcases Samsung?s entire range of IT and digital products like notebooks, netbooks, monitors, printers, consumables, digital camera, digital camcorders, MP3 players and mobile phones. The Brandshop also has on display IT accessories like laptop bags, headphones etc.
The newly opened outlet has an "Experience Zone" created to encourage consumers to experience the products on site. The laptops have been displayed to showcase the commonly used applications like music, gaming, movies and imaging. Other digital products have been integrated into this demo zone to showcase convergence of digital devices. To make the product experience memorable, all laptops are connected through Wi-Fi allowing consumers to browse the net and get first hand experience of the product. The premium, thin and light X series; Mainstream Q series, the all rounder, value series, the R series of Samsung notebooks are displayed at the Samsung Brandshop along with the company's recently introduced N series of netbooks,N110, NC 20, N120, and N 310.Samsung entered the netbook and the notebook business in December 2008 and strengthened its netbook range with new launches in the month of May 2009.
Samsung also has printer demo zones in Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Coimbatore for showcasing its IT products. In addition to exclusive IT Brandshops, the company is also setting up IT displays within the existing Samsung Digital Plazas. The company has around 300 Digital Plazas for its consumer electronics products in the country at present. Samsung IT products are also available through large format retail stores like Croma, e-zone etc.
Samsung is also displaying and retailing its latest range of LCD monitors at the IT Brandshop. In the month of June it introduced MystNEXT monitors in 18.5 and 20-inch screen sizes and Lavender series in 22 and 23-inch screen sizes. Samsung has a range of eight LCD monitors in the screen segments between 15.6 to 23-inch, priced in the range between Rs 5,950 to Rs 13,700.
"The Samsung IT Brandshop, I expect, will go a long way towards enhancing the consumer interest and awareness on Samsung IT and digital media products like cameras, camcorders etc, since they will experience the products in an interactive, lifestyle environment," stated Shin.
