NEW DELHI: EMC², one of the leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions, today outlined its five-pronged India GTM strategy for the next growth phase in the Indian market.

"EMC²will extend its leadership in external storage to fast-growing market segments such as information security, content management, personal storage and cloud computing over the next three years," said Alok Ohrie, president, EMC² India and SAARC, at a press conference.

"EMC²'s foray into cloud computing and personal storage through the recent global acquisitions will enable the company penetrate into the high-growth consumer and small business markets," he added. "Besides this, we provide a good space in IT and telecom sector and will continue to focus on it in the future also."

As the first GTM strategy for growth, EMC² has realigned its business into enterprise and commercial division and also announced its plans to strengthen its information infrastructure offerings for the small as well as home office segment in India and SAARC region.

As the second strategy, the company has appointed two new members in their enterprise and commercial divisions, India and SAARC region. While Rajesh Janey has been appointed as VP, enterprise business, Ramachandra Acharya would be VP, commercial business.

The company had expanded its geographical presence in India and SAARC region by opening two new offices i.e. in Ahmedabad and Pune. Pune will be the 9th logistics and support centre, as the third pillar of the strategy for growth.

In addition, EMC² also announced nine new information infrastructure products for India and SAARC market, as the fourth pillar.

The new products include CLARiiON CX4 series of mid-range storage systems and Celera NX4 entry level unified storage platform.

As a part of the last pillar of strategy for growth, EMC² has launched a 20-city partner recruitment roadshow to double its partner base from 100 partners to more than 200 by 2009.

It will adopt the cluster approach in which EMC² has identified 20 clusters comprising 40 cities to expand its presence through its partner network. Currently, it has presence in 30 cities, said Alok.
