BANGALORE, INDIA: In this age of slowdown, even a newspaper advertisement can provoke kind of a strange reaction from unexpected corners; maybe an innovative one! The latest invite from AMD has done exactly the same. The invite for the 'Six Core AMD Opteron Processor, codenamed 'Istanbul' is an indirect on the two-page Intel advertisement that appeared in a major newspaper in India. "An intelligent space expedition to Mars 'tomorrow' may not help you battle the slowdown. Nor can a virtual walkway through the Taj 'tomorrow'," says the invite, in an apparent reference to the Intel ad, which refers to many imaginative concepts like 'Airline to Mars', 'hydro power technology replaces oil with water as new fuel for India', and 'Taj Mahalogram' to bring home the concept of the 'Innovators of Tomorrow'. While Intel asks, "Do you have an idea that will make tomorrow's headline", AMD counters it by saying " In a downturn you'll see innovators emerge with breakthrough ideas".
