Interop Mumbai addresses tech issues

MUMBAI, INDIA: The debut edition of ‘Interop Mumbai 2009,’ a global business technology conference, kicked off here to day. The conference comes to India after the grand success in Las Vegas, Tokyo & New York, said a press release.

Wim Elfrink, chief globalization officer, Cisco and executive vice president, Cisco Services, inaugurated the event. The conference is being held from October 7-9, 2009 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai and has over 70 exhibitors and 3000 leading IT professionals & organizations participating.

Other dignitaries present at the function were Sandeep Nair, chairman – western region, Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT) and MD, Emerson Network Power; Vijay Pradhan, SNIA, Lenny Heymann, Interop general manager and Val Souza, conference chair, Interop Mumbai 2009, added the release.

Addressing the opening key note at the conference Wim Elfrink said, “Internet has reached industrialization stage but the road ahead needs to be paved. The industry should think of ways to create a new value through IT. New innovative ideas and inflection points need to be created, and we have to think of ways to create them. Deep engineering skills will be pivotal in driving the creation.”

Rajesh Jain, managing director, Netcore Solutions, said, “Mobile VAS is the Next Wave for entrepreneurs and large IT organizations.”

Rajesh - dubbed as the original Indian dot com hero after he sold his dotcom startup to Satyam in 1999 - feels that the real mobile VAS boom will happen in India because of the specific market conditions.
