SAN FRANCISCO, USA: Software giant Oracle Corp. on Wednesday named Jeff Epstein as its new chief financial officer. He would replace Safra Catz, who has been serving as both president and CFO of the company since 2005.
Catz would remain with Oracle as president, and Epstein would be reporting to him, Oracle said in a press release. Epstein's appointment would come into effect from September.

Both Catz and Charles Phillips would serve as president under Chief Executive Larry Ellison, the company said.

Prior to joining Oracle, Jeff Epstein had served as CFO of Oberon Media, a privately held Internet game technology provider and publisher. He was also associated with DoubleClick (now owned by Google Inc.), King World Productions and ADVO.

"Jeff's expertise in global operations and finance will further strengthen Oracle's senior management team," Ellison said in a prepared statement.
