MUMBAI, INDIA: After Satyam Computer Service Limited was re-christened as Mahindra Satyam last week and subsequently, C P Gurnani named as the new CEO, it almost has applied brakes on market speculations in terms of investors and clients' confidence along with the company's own employees.

In fact, C P Gurnani, on his appointment, said, "Mahindra Satyam has four immediate priorities – to strengthen corporate governance, enhance customer delight, regain market share and build the brand. I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the organization towards those objectives and I am confident we well succeed."

"The fraud that happened in Satyam mainly was done locally by a few people and now with Mahindra's name with Satyam, it has put all those things behind and it will have multiplier effects," Gurnani commented about renaming of Satyam.

"Overall from our leadership discussion, we realized that there's lot of challenges ahead such as retaining customers, bringing back the confidence of the employees and try and make the workplace a fun place," Gurnani said.

He pointed out that the account attrition rate has nearly become zero after April 30 and a number of clients have been added.

"Out of 1000 fortune companies, half of them are our customers and have stayed back with us. Companies have been receiving full service support from Satyam employees and are happy to work with us," Gurnani explained.

Moreover, Gurnani added, "We want to bring back Mahindra Satyam on the growth trajectory and the customers of Tech Mahindra are looking at Mahindra Satyam for work opportunities."
