MUMBAI, INDIA:IT firm Tech Mahindra, which has got a controlling stake in Satyam Computer Services, has extended the date for approaching the shareholders of Satyam regarding its open offer for the purchase of a 20 per cent stake in the company.
SEBI had cleared the open offer recently. Though earlier it was announced that the letter of offer will be dispatched to the shareholders by June 3, in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange today, Satyam Computer said the last date by which the offer would be send has been revised to June 9.
"Further, the last date of withdrawal by shareholders has also been revised to June 26, 2009 from the earlier scheduled date June 27, 2009," said the filing.
Dates for all other activities of the schedule remains unchanged. It was on April 13 that Tech Mahindra won the Satyam bid to get a controlling stake in the company.
While it got 31 per cent stake from the company, through preferential shares, for around Rs. 1756 crore, it was permitted to buy another 20 per cent from the open market.
