BANGALORE: Tektronix Inc., a provider in measurement and monitoring instruments, announced on Wednesday that it has received Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award recognizing their significant contributions to Intel in 2008.

Tektronix supplies Intel with validation test equipment, deemed essential to Intel’s success.

Tektronix and 25 additional suppliers are recognized as 2008 PQS award winners, said a press release.

“We are honored to receive the Preferred Quality Supplier award from Intel for the third consecutive year. We see this award as a validation of our continued commitment to Intel’s success,” said Jim Lico, president of Tektronix, Inc.

He added that at Tektronix, they make it a priority to listen to their customers, understand their requirements, and deliver on those requirements, with a goal of exceeding expectations.

“Tektronix solutions helped Intel product development teams bring to market Intel’s next generation products. The Tektronix team demonstrated technical, manufacturing, management and field support excellence with their logic analyzer and oscilloscope products, ” said John D. Barton, vice president, Digital Enterprise Group and GM, Platform Validation Engineering, Intel Corporation.

“Intel, Tektronix and our mutual customers will continue to benefit from this excellent execution as logic analysis solutions evolve to meet increasingly demanding needs,” he added.

The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) program that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement, the release added.

To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals.

The celebrations would be held in Tokyo, Japan and Santa Clara, California during the month of March 2009 to honor the PQS award winners, the release added.
