MUMBAI, INDIA: Institute of Economic Studies (IES), recently conferred the prestigious 'Bhartiya Udyog Ratna' award to Sonit Jain, founder and CEO of GajShield Infotech Pvt. Ltd, a provider of integrated security solutions.
The company was awarded the 'Excellence Award' for the outstanding achievements in the field of Internet security, said a press release.
The award ceremony took place at a recently concluded seminar on 'Economic Development' in New Delhi and was presided over by Bhism Narain Singh, former Governor of Tamil Nadu and Assam.
The company statement reported that it was under the leadership of Sonit Jain that the company accelerated growth and gained strong market acceptance for its integrated security platforms.
Jain, said, "This award is in recognition of the pioneering work done by GajShield in the field of Internet security, and also for being one of the few organizations in India to develop software-based products."
He has been working in the area of information technology since 1993. Jain headed the technical team that built India World, India's first web portal, which was sold to SIFY at $115 million and the first Indian site to implement Cyber cash-based billing in 1995.
He was also involved in Smart Card Project at IIT Mumbai.
