BANGALORE, INDIA: Acer, a provider in notebooks in India, announced on Monday that it has launched the Aspire One D150 Netbook with 6-hour battery and 10.1" WTFT at Rs.. 20,999. This product will be available in Croma outlets till March 20 across India, said a press release. The latest version of the Acer Aspire One has a mini notebook 10.1" WSVGA, high-brightness Acer CrystalBrite TFT LCD and the ability to put 2 GB of memory, it added. Some models of the Aspire series would use the new version of the Intel's Atom processor N270, which has a slightly higher clock speed of 1.60GHz and supports memory faster. The main USP of this model is bright and readable display in its native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and integrated with Acer Crystal Eye Webcam, said the release. This screen allows more space for applications that use the first generation of netBook. The Aspire One has a collection of ports, which includes two USB ports on the right side of the case, while the left has a third, plus an Ethernet port, VGA output connector, two built-in stereo speakers, and a slot flash memory cards. It also comes with one-year international travelers warranty along with protective sleeve bag, the release added. While previous models Aspire comes with a choice of operating system, the new Aspire One comes only with Windows XP Home Edition. Other software includes a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Works Suite for users, and McAfee Security Center. There are also public utilities, potentially the most useful of which is the Acer eRecovery Management, which restores the system to the original condition when it was delivered from an image in a hidden partition on the hard disk, added the release.
