MUMBAI, INDIA: Memory products maker Kingston Technology Company recently unveiled a range of new products. The latest arrivals include the company's new 8GB microSD High-Capacity (SDHC) and 16GB microSD High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash memory cards to its mobile memory storage line.

The company said that the new 8GB microSDHC cards would offer greater storage options to the latest mobile phones and digital devices in the smallest footprint available.

It added that the 8GB microSDHC cards can store more than 1,500 digital songs, more than 4,000 images from a 5MP cameraphone, or up to eight hours of video. This means it brings to the scene excellent storage limits on mobile phones without Flash memory card slots.

Pointing out that Kingston's "8GB and 16GB microSDHC cards are very much spacious that mobile users can easily move entire digital libraries from a personal computer to their mobile phones," Scott Chen, vice president of APAC Region, Kingston added that, "consumers are demanding more from their mobile phones, expecting them to perform as portable music or game players, digital cameras, email communicators, browsers and navigators."

Priced at Rs 1699 and Rs 4499 respectively, the new Kingston microSDHC 8GB and 16GB cards are distributed in India by HCL Infosystems Ltd, Shreepati Computers, Compuage Infocom, Sunrise Info Solutions, Tech Pacific India Ltd, Transtek Infoways Pvt. Ltd and Neoteric Informatique.

Features of the new products include compliance with the SD Association Specification, Version 2.00 and compatibility with microSDHC-enabled devices/readers. The cards can be used as full-size SDHC or miniSDHC card with appropriate adapter.
